5 Steps To Reach Your Summer Goals

We do this all the time.  We start feeling bad about some aspect in our lives, and  we get angry or sad, and then we vow to change it! “I wish I looked better in that summer dress I bought (feeling sad), but I’m going to get back on the horse!  My new diet starts tomorrow!”

That cycle doesn’t ends, and that diet doesn’t work, at least not long term.  While feeling that sadness or pain can motivate us in that moment, we need to dig deeper if we want to really make some amazing changes in our lives.

Take a step back and see the bigger picture.  It’s WAY more than just looking good in a summer dress.  

Here are the 5 Ways To Find Success This Summer!

  1. Decide on your “Why”.  What is the #1 biggest driver for WHY you want to be healthy, get in great shape, look and feel amazing?
  2. Reframe your problem (barrier).  Focus on the solution, instead of drowning in self pity.  Reframe your thoughts toward that sunshine on the horizon and reaching that goal for yourself.  Get so laser-focused on how awesome you’ll feel at the finish line, that you forget about how hard it is being where you’re at right now.
  3. Surround yourself with positive people, and with people who have similar goals.  Get a friend to start this new journey with you.  Make sure you have a solid support system around you.  
  4. Create a simple plan for yourself, and get obsessed about that plan!  If it’s getting to class 3 days each week, cutting out sugar and meal prepping lunch every day… get obsessed about making each of those things happen 100% of the time.  Go all in on your plan. IMPORTANT: I didn’t say get obsessed about your goal.  That’s NOT it, and that’s not healthy. Obsess about your plan and the small steps each day it will take for you to get there.  Embrace the process. Then, the next thing you know you’ll be at your goal feeling amazing!
  5. Believe in YOU.  You know what you need to do.  You are strong enough to make this happen.
