Ready to FEEL Amazing This Summer?

It’s that time of year when everyone starts to obsess about getting that “summer body” just as the weather starts to get nice.  We’re all thinking about wearing the summer outfits and swimsuits for those pool parties, picnics, etc. The pressure is on, right?

While thinking about getting into that bathing suit can be a heck of a motivator, you’ve got to start from the right place.   Honestly, there are way more important things to be focused on than getting that summer body looking good. Let’s start with FEELING good!

The thing is, it’s really hard to make any positive changes for yourself if you are starting from a bad place.  You need to love that body you’re in right now! Embrace it. There are lots of reasons you might not be at your ideal weight… maybe you’ve been really stressed out, you’ve got some hormone imbalances going on, an injury or illness has kept you from exercising or just poor nutrition.  

It’s kinda like when you’re on an airplane, and they go over the emergency procedures.  They always tell you to put your oxygen mask of FIRST before you help anyone else. It’s the same in life.  You can’t be the best wife, husband, mom, dad, sister, brother or friend if you aren’t taking care of yourself first.

4 Steps To FEELING Amazing This Summer

  1. Acknowledge the one primary barrier that is holding you back from feeling your best.  What is that one thing holding you back?
  2. Embrace it!  You can’t make long-lasting, significant change unless you fully embrace what got you here
  3. Find Gratitude for all the good in your life!  Go write down 3 things that you are grateful for in your life.  (seriously, get a pen and write this down!)
  4. Make a change based on that primary barrier.  Dig deep on this one. Don’t just say “I’m going to workout more”….  You must set a specific goal, such as “I am going to get to class every Mon, Wed, Fri morning”.  Track your progress on a calendar for accountability.

Make this summer awesome!  When you focus on FEELING amazing first, before only trying to look great, you’ll set yourself up for success this summer.
